Diane Dowsett

Diane Dowsett is a landscape artist based in Brighton, Ontario, originally from Sudbury. Having grown up surrounded by nature and traveled extensively, she draws inspiration from diverse geographies and cultures. After leaving a corporate career in 2022, she fully committed to art, wellbeing, and community engagement. Largely self-taught, Diane blends hyperrealism with abstract elements in her acrylic paintings on canvas or wood, emphasizing colour, light, and mood. Her work evokes emotional and sensory connections to nature, often using skies as a central element to set the tone. She sees her art as a way to relive memories and find balance and serenity through the beauty of the natural world.
