Collection: Monika Rosen

Monika Rosen is a figurative and landscape painter based in Kingston with an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a BFA from Queen’s University. Working primarily in oil, she is fascinated by the relationship between the psyche and the landscape. Her paintings navigate themes of vulnerability, transformation, and the rhythms of an interconnected ecosystem. Through the interplay of light and water, she evokes a sense of change and healing. Monika’s practice has been shaped by international art residencies, including an internship residency on Fogo Island, Newfoundland in 2022. Her work has been exhibited in group shows in the US and Europe and in solo exhibitions in Canada, with paintings in the collections of 21C Museum Hotels (US) and The Daniels Corporation (Toronto). When not painting in her Kingston studio, Monika illustrates (medical, children’s books), teaches, and sails the waters of Lake Ontario.
