Important Dates

July 31st: Pay your non-refundable $35.00 participation fee by clicking here.

September 20th: Send artwork details & image files for the website. Information on how to do this will be provided in a separate email.

October 16th & 17th: Deadline to deliver your five [12”x12”] pieces.

Artwork Specifications

  • Artwork must be exactly 12” square to be included in the show. Any artwork that is smaller or larger than 12”x12” will not be included in the show.
  • If you are providing framed artwork, the finished size including the frame must be 12x12”.
  • Artwork will be displayed sitting on picture rails at the event, but please finish with hanging hardware for the clients.
  • Artists are responsible for insurance on their art pieces, if desired. We will do our best to keep your artwork safe, however, our insurance does not provide coverage for any damage that may be caused by guests of the show.
  • Returning artists, please make sure you are submitting different works than last year.

How many pieces should I submit to the show?

You may submit one to five pieces.

What is the commission collected by Kingston Square Foot?

40%

Am I required to provide packing supplies for my artwork?

No, this is provided by the show!

Am I required to attend the event?

No! But if you are nearby and able to make it to the show, we would love to see you! Make sure to wave down an event staff member or volunteer if you do come to the show, because we will have name tags available so that the guests of the show recognize you as an artist!

How much does it cost to attend the show?

It is free all weekend long!

How are payments handled during the show?

All payments are completed by Kingston Square Foot Show staff using our POS system.

How do I get paid for my artwork that is sold during the show?

After the show, you will receive a sales summary which will show you your total sales, which pieces sold, and how much is owed to you. Payments will be sent by e-transfer to the email address you provide on your artwork submission form. Our goal is to complete all payments within 2 weeks following the show.

1. Please tag us @kingstonsquarefootshowwhen you have work in progress / sneak peeks etc. When you tag us in your posts, we are sure to see it and can then reshare in our stories!

2. If you want us to share specific paintings that are for the show, please direct message them on Instagram & Vanessa will share as your turn comes up. We are following a schedule to ensure everyone is shared equally (excluding resharing tagged content, which we do as it comes up when relevant).

3. VIDEOS: If you'd like to send Vanessa short [~10seconds] clips of you artwork/ you working on your artwork via instagram, she will be featuring these clips in reels to help promote the event.

4.REELS - collaborate!:If you are posting a reel and would like to invite us to collaborate so that it shows up on both of our pages, please do! We will accept at least one reel collaboration per artist.

Marketing

Postcards & Flyers

Postcards and posters for the event are available now! We will be placing these in various businesses around town over the next few weeks.

Postcards and/ or posters can be picked up at Montreal Street Collective if you are interested in having some to distribute at work/ other events/ to your friends etc. Please send us an email and we will make sure to have some set aside for you!

Contests

We will be running various contests through social media to help promote the event; with prizes including four $50 gift cards to the event. We encourage you to share these posts as they come up.

Submitting Artwork For Online

All artwork will be available for purchase online on Saturday, Oct 19th & Sunday, Oct 20th (the show is in person only on the opening Friday).

To submit your artwork to be added to the website, please follow these steps.

Take your photos 📸

  • You may submit up to, but not more than, 2 photos per piece.
  • One photo must be cropped to show only the artwork or with a minimal white background only (frame included if applicable).
  • Optional: one photo may be a zoomed in photo to highlight a specific detail of your work if desired.
  • Files must be either .jpg or .png and no larger than 1MB.
  • Rename your image files prior to uploading them into the form using the following format: 
    Artist Name - Artwork Name.jpg 
    OR
    Artist Name - Artwork Name1.jpg
    Artist Name - Artwork Name2.jpg

Artwork Drop-Offs

For artists in town who are dropping off artwork in person - you can drop off:

Times: 10am - 3pm AND 4pm - 6pm

If you are unavailable during those times, please reach out directly and we will find a time that works for you!

Drop-Off Process at the Tett

Please Note we have made some changes to our drop-off process this year. When you arrive at the Tett Centre, you will:

  1. Confirm your name and number of pieces with KSFS staff
  2. Unwrap and place artwork onto photo rails.
    (Any boxes, bags, and packing supplies used to transport your artwork will go home with you.)
  3. Fill out KSFS Art Cards with the name and cost of each piece.

Please be prepared to spend at least 15-20 minutes at the Tett Centre completing this process.

Return Shipping:

If you require return shipping for any unsold pieces, you will be invoiced for this after the show. As a guide, return shipping last year ranged from $15 - $35, with the average cost being between $20-25.

Live Painting Sign-Ups

We will be showcasing live painting on both Saturday and Sunday at the Tett Centre to make the experience more interactive for guests of the show! It's also a great opportunity for artists to meet potential buyers!

How It Works

  • Each day will be broken into 2-hour timeslots.
  • Each 2-hour timeslot can accommodate two artists.
  • Space available for 14 artists total.
