This painting is an assemblage on wood panel, created with pieces cut from five large paintings that were done on canvas using acrylics and inks. 
I choose my palette, create five large abstract paintings, using a variety of tools for my mark making. I photograph details from the paintings, then turn them face down and cut them into strips of varying widths. I end up with about 90 strips from the five paintings, from which I then create a new piece.
My work is a celebration of colours, marks and textures. It is about creation, destruction and recreation, as well as control and loss of control in the many steps and processes that I go through in creating a final piece.
